It's all here
Award-winning parks & gardens. Hundreds of leading brands across five nearby malls. Safe, cyclable streets. And a genuine togetherness created by years of community events and social gatherings. Welcome to living in Canary Wharf… it’s all here.

In a 2020 TED Talk on the future of cities, pioneer in urban issues Professor Carlos Moreno spoke about a “big bang of proximity”, where everything you need to live and prosper – “work, housing, food, health, education, culture and leisure” – could all be enjoyed within a short walk or cycle of your home.

Moreno celebrates Paris, where 60km of cycle lanes are bringing life to the city centre. And Milan, where Mayor Sala is looking to put people at the heart of the Lombard capital. Now the world has opened up again, the professor could be speaking about Canary Wharf – with its abundance of nearby shops, vibrant bars and cafés, peaceful parks, buzzing community spaces and so much more.

BENEFITS OF LIVING IN CANARY WHARF

Canary Wharf is rich in life and experience. Ask any resident, whose days are made simple, stress-free and always full of colour with a programme of free local events that span art, fashion, film, dance, music and more.

Local environments

Since day one, Canary Wharf has been built around a vision of closeness and convenience, where work, shops, dining, green spaces and culture are just a short walk away.

There’s no rush-hour crush here. But even on your busiest day you can enjoy your time in the Estate’s cafés and restaurants, or outside with nature. Because everything you need is just around the corner.

Like Vertus itself, community is at the heart of Canary Wharf. With plenty of opportunities for friendly interactions, it’s easy to foster close ties. You can strengthen these at Vertus Plus events like ‘Wine Wednesdays’, ‘Books & Bubbles’ and Resident Meetings, where the community comes together to socialise.

It’s one of the many joys of living in Canary Wharf – that sense of closeness, both physically and socially. Knowing that the Vertus team have everything covered, it’s all here.

Health

Areas that welcome walkers and cyclists. Numerous green spaces. Waterside living, working and dining. Safer streets. Spas and gyms. Canary Wharf is a naturally healthy place to be; somewhere to feel more in tune with yourself and your surroundings.

Sustainability

In big, sprawling cities, that sense of closeness and community is often lost. Plus, nature can be forgotten in the complexity.

Vertus life is both an easy life and an eco-life. Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Park has Green Flag status and the incredible Roof Garden at Crossrail place, designed by Fosters+Fosters is award-winning. The Estate has launched many initiatives like 2018’s award-winning Breaking the Plastic Habit. In fact, Canary Wharf Group is the largest sustainable developer in the UK, with over 11 million square feet of sustainable certified buildings.

Living here is to exist within a community that is mindful of its environment and our impact. Which encourages nature to thrive around us. Canary Wharf Group's most recent partnership, with The Eden Project, is the first of its kind and will help in tackling biodiversity challenges in urban environments. Together with Eden, the first project will be the creation of a green spine through the centre of the Canary Wharf estate with additional green public realm, parks and gardens, waterside access, performance spaces, new bridges, boardwalks and floating pontoons. It will animate the docks with new spaces for arts and culture, and for water sports such as paddle-boarding, open water swimming and kayaking.

Things to do

Live on sparkling quays, among shops and restaurants and beside award-winning parks and green spaces.

The community at Canary Wharf, close-knit and cultured, spend their days following modern art trails, exploring quayside boardwalks, taking picnics by the water’s edge and grabbing a coffee from pop-up vans. The further you explore, the more you find to do.

Rich and convenient, natural and healthy, and with community beating in its heart. This is Canary Wharf – it’s all here.

Live with Vertus and enjoy everything on your doorstep in Canary Wharf.
